What to do before your Breast Augmentation procedure in Tijuana?

At your initial Tijuana Breast Augmentation consultation with Dr. Marciales , you will discuss your medical history and receive a physical exam. He must be healthy and have realistic goals for his procedure. Dr. Marciales will make recommendations based on his expectations and general health. In some cases, a smaller procedure may be enough to satisfy the goals of it.

Explanation of the Breast Augmentation procedure in Tijuana:

Breast Augmentation in Tijuana

Breast augmentation in Tijuana , also known as mammoplasty, is a surgery that is performed to increase the size of the breasts. It involves placing breast implants under the breast tissue or chest muscles.

For some women, Breast Augmentation  is a way to improve their confidence. For others, it is part of breast reconstruction due to various illnesses.

What can I expect from a breast augmentation procedure in Tijuana?

Breast Augmentation in Tijuana can be performed in a surgical center or in an outpatient hospital center. You will likely return home the same day. Rarely, the procedure requires hospitalization.

Sometimes, the Breast Augmentation in Tijuana  is carried out under local anesthesia, that is, they numb the bust area while you are awake. However, breast augmentation is usually performed under general anesthesia, in which you remain asleep during the surgery.

During The Procedure

To place the breast implant,  Dr. Marciales  makes a single cut (incision) in one of three possible locations:

  • In the fold under the breast (submammary)
  • Under the arm (axillary)
  • Below the nipple (periareolar)

After making the incision,  Dr. Martial  will separate the breast tissue from the muscles and connective tissue of the chest. This creates a pocket behind or in front of the outer muscle of the chest wall (pectoralis muscle). Dr. Marciales will place the implant inside this pocket and center it behind the nipple.

Placement

Saline implants are placed empty and once they are in place they are filled with sterile saline. Silicone implants are pre-filled with silicone gel.

When the implant is in place,  dr. Marciales  will close the incision, usually with stitches (sutures), and apply a bandage with skin closure strips and surgical tape.

Post Operation

  • You will likely feel pain and swelling for a few weeks after surgery. You may also have bruises.
  • During recovery, it may be helpful to wear a compression bandage or sports bra to provide additional support and to hold the breast implants in place.
  • Follow Dr. Martial’s instructions about when to resume normal activities. If you don’t have a physically demanding job, you could be back at work in a few weeks.
  • Avoid strenuous activities, that is, anything that can increase your heart rate or blood pressure, for at least two weeks.
Recovery
  • During recovery, remember that the breasts will be sensitive to physical contact or sudden movements.
  • If your surgeon used sutures that don’t absorb on their own or placed drainage tubes near your breasts, you’ll need a follow-up appointment to have them removed.
  • If you notice a sensation of warmth or redness in your breast, or if you have a fever, you could have an infection. Contact the surgeon as soon as possible.
  • You should also contact your surgeon if you experience shortness of breath or chest pain.

Risks Associated With Breast Augmentation

A  breast augmentation  involves different risks, for example:

  • Scar tissue that distorts the shape of the breast implant (capsule contracture).
  • Breast pain.
  • Infection.
  • Changes in the sensitivity of the nipples and breasts.
  • Losses in the implant or its rupture.
